Base pay range
CA$100,000.00/yr - CA$115,000.00/yr
The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the People Committee, ensuring adherence to its mandate by the Standing Chair and Board Directors. Coordinate dealer activities, collaborate with DVP and Operations, prepare agendas, secure content, and develop meeting materials for dealer-only meetings. Work with CTC to plan and execute corporate meetings, track decisions, and follow up on actions. Assist in developing content for Store Leadership and Learning, and prepare drafts for CTDA Board meetings. Ensure minutes are accurately recorded and confirmed.
- Provide strategic insights on HR trends by monitoring industry associations (e.g., Retail Council of Canada) and legislative developments internationally. Offer analysis and recommendations on topics such as privacy, health & safety, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Manage the HR tools, policies, and templates accessible to all Dealers, ensuring compliance with legislative standards and alignment with current HR trends. Conduct annual reviews with Dealer WG to update materials. Oversee the execution of programs like Friendly Phone, HR Checklist, Vacancy and Resume postings, and Jobshelf.
- Oversee programs through third-party vendors, including Health & Safety and Pay Equity initiatives in Ontario. Lead talent acquisition, recruitment campaigns, and health and safety projects as needed.
- Provide professional counsel to stores on specific issues such as Workplace Violence and Harassment investigations and AODA audits.
Key Relationships
- Associate Dealers – provide interaction, counsel, and support in committee work and HR matters at individual stores.
- CTC Management and Staff – collaborate on HR program design and updates.
- Third-party support providers – manage relationships with vendors like CTDA, Health & Safety, Pay Equity, webTactics, and Jobshelf.
- Industry associations – stay current on HR topics impacting stores.
