Job summary

Red River Mutual in Manitoba is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to create exceptional experiences for candidates and employees. You will partner with HR leaders to attract talent, onboard new hires, and support employees through their journey in a welcoming, people-first environment.

You’ll manage HR processes, administer Dayforce and LMS, prepare HR communications, and contribute to workforce analytics to drive informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level or higher in HR, business administration, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of progressive HR experience (talent acquisition, onboarding, HR admin).
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle processes, HR administration, HRIS; Dayforce preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and best HR practices.
  • Strong organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Dayforce/SharePoint/LMS experience is an asset.

  • Process employee lifecycle transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, terminations.
  • Administer Dayforce, employee records, reporting, and workflows with data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare employment letters, reports, communications, and HR documents.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities: postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, checks, offers.
  • Create a positive candidate experience through proactive communication.

Leveraging your organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and relationship-building strengths, you'll work closely with HR Business Partners, leaders, employees, and candidates to advance people initiatives, strengthen our employer brand, and help bring our culture to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and triage the HR inbox, providing timely service and escalating matters appropriately.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions, including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves, and terminations.
  • Administer and support Dayforce, employee records, reporting, and workflows while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare employment letters, reports, communications, and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing, participate in screening and interview processes, assessments, reference and background checks, and offer preparation.
  • Create a positive candidate experience through proactive communication and timely updates.
  • Coordinate new hire documentation, welcome materials, and ongoing support for new employees.
  • Deliver engaging orientation sessions that help new employees feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success.
  • Support offboarding and other employee transitions with accurate documentation, effective communication, and care.
  • Coordinate people-focused programs and initiatives that support employee engagement, development and inclusion.
  • Maintain HR SharePoint resources and communications that keep employees informed and connected.
  • Support employee learning and development through LMS administration, training records, and reporting.
  • Prepare workforce metrics, reports, and dashboards for operational and strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to innovative HR solutions that improve processes, systems, and the employee experience.
  • Provide backup to the Payroll & Benefits Partner.
What You'll Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years of progressive experience in HR, talent acquisition, coordination, or a related role.
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle processes, HR administration, and HRIS management; Dayforce experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge employment legislation and best HR practices, employment legislation
  • Excellent organization, planning, prioritization, and time management, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine commitment to building relationships and delivering exceptional employee and candidate experiences.
  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity, professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR technology; Dayforce, SharePoint, LMS, and workforce analytics experience is an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle access.
