Job summary

Capsule Factory Nutraceuticals in Woodstock, Ontario is seeking an HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations for salaried and hourly staff. You will administer policies, support recruitment, onboarding and training, and provide guidance to managers on attendance, performance and discipline.

You will also handle terminations, benefits liaison, investigations and return-to-work processes, while promoting positive employee relations and confidentiality across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in HR generalist role in food/nutraceutical/manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of ADP.
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize, plan and execute.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations.
  • Provide recruiting assistance and candidate screening and assessment.
  • Managing staffing and recruitment needs, including onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Handle termination-related matters and prepare termination and severance letters.
  • Provide expert advice to managers on HR-related matters, including attendance, conflict resolution and progressive discipline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees and foster strong connections.
  • Serve as a trusted resource, maintaining discretion and confidentiality with sensitive data.
  • Address employee inquiries and support investigations and return-to-work updates.
  • Monitor performance-related issues and implement productivity improvements.
  • Organize training sessions and employee engagement activities as required.
  • Support H&S and leaves management including return-to-work follow-ups.
  • Coach leaders and provide recommendations to resolve employee concerns.
  • Knowledge about performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and motivation.
  • Support HR programs, recognition, engagement surveys and plant communications.
  • Liaise for benefits, payroll inquiries and reference letters.

Capsule Factory Nutraceuticals is Canada’s leading contract manufacturer for the nutraceuticals industry is looking for Human Resources Generalist. We manufacture capsules, tablets, soft gels, powder pouching and powder supplements. We are located in Woodstock, Ontario easily accessible from Kitchener, Cambridge, Brantford and London.

Position Summary

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will be taking over all day-to-day requirements. Ensuring HR programs and initiatives meet employee and business objectives for a diverse group including salary and hourly staff. The position provides guidance to employees and responds to a variety of Human Resources related questions, including administration of policies, training initiatives, recruitment, onboardingand Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations

Provide recruiting assistance and candidate screening and assessment

Managing staffing and recruitment needs, including supporting onboarding and new hire orientation processes.

Handle termination-related matters and prepare termination and severance letters

Provide expert advice and coaching to department managers and front-line leadership on HR-related matters, including attendance management, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline.

Build and maintain effective relationships with employees and fostering strong employee connections.

Serve as a trusted resource, accessible to employees, while maintaining discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data.

Driving positive employee relations by timely and proactively addressing employee inquiries and concerns and supporting investigations.

Manage and monitor performance-related issues and implement changes that could increase productivity

Organize training sessions and employee engagement activities as required

Supports H&S and operational leaders on non-occupational, disability or medical leaves including regular follow-up to the employee and providing updates to supervisors of return to work.

Coach operational leaders and provide recommendations or resolutions to employee concerns.

Knowledge about performance evaluations, conflict resolution, employee motivation.

Supporting the management, implementation and communication of fundamental HR programs, including recognition programs, employee feedback forums, engagement survey action planning, and plant communications.

Act as liaison for employee benefits, payroll inquiries and preparation of job reference letters, ensuring timely follow up.

Identify, prepare and deliver training/communications to supervisors and management on various topics.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience in Human Resources, holding or working towards a CHRP designation a strong asset
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in HR generalist role. Experience in food, nutraceutical, manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and analytical skills.
  • Working Knowledge of ADP
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize, plan and execute;
  • Significant knowledge of the hiring process
  • A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
