Job summary

Confidential, a Canadian employer, seeks an HR Business Partner to support Manufacturing Operations Facilities. You will guide leaders and employees through employee relations, investigations, performance management, and change management, building strong relationships with the Operations team.

You will provide coaching, policy development, training, and support OH&S, leaves, and accommodations, while tracking HR metrics and influencing workforce decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in a Human Resources role.
  • Experience in manufacturing is an asset.
  • Understanding of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation for multiple provinces.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with HR databases and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary HR contact for assigned facilities and support Operations and Facility Managers.
  • Provide employee relations support, conduct objective investigations, and advise on compliance.
  • Guide performance management, coaching, development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support OH&S, disability, leaves management, return-to-work, and accommodations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and training.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and culture across facilities.
  • Track HR metrics and employee lifecycle documentation to inform decisions.
  • Support broader HR initiatives including total rewards, diversity & inclusion, and legislation updates.

About the Role

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to support our Manufacturing Operations Facilities, reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner. You will guide leaders and employees through employee relations, investigations, leadership and employee development, and change management. Building key relationships with the Operations team, you’ll provide coaching, advice, and innovative HR solutions to achieve business objectives.

Scope of Role

  • Act as the primary HR contact for assigned facilities, supporting Operations and Facility Managers, leaders, and employees.
  • Provide employee relations support, conduct objective investigations into workplace claims, and advise on legislative compliance to reduce risk.
  • Guide performance management, including coaching, development, disciplinary action, and terminations.
  • Support OH&S, disability and leaves management, return-to-work, and workplace accommodation.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and programs, and deliver related training.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and culture across the facilities.
  • Track HR metrics and employee-lifecycle documentation, providing insights to inform decisions.
  • Support broader HR initiatives as needed, including HR projects, total rewards, diversity and inclusion, and staying current on employment legislation.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3-5 years in a Human Resources role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is an asset.
  • Understanding of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation for multiple provinces.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with HR databases, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass a basic security clearance.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel to facilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • HR and business acumen with the ability to deliver solutions.
  • Confident working with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Professional, resilient, and capable of influencing positive change.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to customer service and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled in articulating complex issues and leading difficult conversations.

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources (diploma/degree)
  • CPHR designation or working towards it is an asset.
