Qualificações

As the HR & H&S Generalist, you will be responsible for supporting the organization’s people strategy through a combined focus on human resources, health & safety, and sustainability practices. This role plays a key part in developing and maintaining programs that uphold company values, promote employee engagement, ensure legal compliance, and foster a safe and healthy workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Employee Relations

• Provide advice, guidance, and support to People Leaders on organizational policy and employee relations matters, performance management, attendance, progressive coaching, and investigations.
• Ensure consistent interpretation and application of company policies, procedures, and relevant employment and health and safety legislation.
• Support employee engagement and retention initiatives by recommending improvements that enhance the employee experience and align with company values.
• Oversee leave administration processes, ensuring timely communication of updates to Plant Leadership and supporting return-to-work plans.
• Maintain trusted relationships across all levels of the organization, ensuring employees have clear channels to raise concerns.
• Track, document, and complete all organizational change paperwork (e.g., promotions, transfers, etc.) for designated client groups. Partner with the Operations team to conduct audits and surveys to ensure employee satisfaction.

Human Resources & Health and Safety Program Support

• Support a full range of HR functions including recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee relations, compliance, and training.
• Lead and coordinate onboarding processes to ensure new hires have a great onboarding experience and integrate successfully into the company.
• Work and coordinate with our third party recruitment firm for all recruitment requirements
• Organize and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and ensure meeting minutes, action items, and compliance requirements are completed.
• Maintain, update, and oversee the health and safety program, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and foster a culture of safety.
• Ensure organizational and HR policies and procedures are updated regularly.
• Coordinate and deliver training sessions on HR, compliance, and H&S topics as required.
• Provide additional support on HR & H&S projects and initiatives as assigned.

Sustainability

• Support company interdepartmental sustainability initiatives, such as:
• b. Employee Commuting Program
• c. Employee Resource Group Development Strategies
• d. Sustainability Policy Development & Implementation – Single Use Plastics Ban, Kitchenware Program, Waste Segregation Policy, etc.
• e. Creation and delivery of sustainability education content for employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders
• Support company departments in embedding sustainability and developing ambitious goals aligned with our purpose and values, using new and existing framework such as B Impact Assessment, UN Sustainable Development Goals, etc.
• Support new and ongoing environmental and sustainability initiatives.

Education & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an HR capacity, preferably within an HR Generalist role
• Previous experience supporting a client group, including experience with employee relations
• Previous experience in Manufacturing or Plant Operations would be considered an asset
• Strong understanding and application of employment law and health and safety legislation
• Completed University Degree or College Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources Management preferred
• Other relevant and related fields may also be considered
