Soroc is looking for an HR Generalist to join our team and help drive a positive employee experience through accurate payroll, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for a proactive HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong eye for detail and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new hires, employee changes, and terminations for salary, hourly, and contract staff
  • Verify time entries and process semi-monthly payroll, including adjustments, deductions, taxes, ROEs, and special pay runs
  • Approve and maintain the company-wide vacation tracking system
  • Administer group benefits and sick leave programs (enrolment, changes, terminations, reconciliations)
  • Manage WSIB claims and workers’ compensation cases
  • Compile year-end reporting requirements (T4s, taxable benefits)
  • Address payroll and benefits inquiries professionally and in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Support additional Payroll and HR tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in payroll and HR administration
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification (or working towards it)
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Oracle ERP is required
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
