Job description

Are you a dedicated Logistics Coordinator looking to advance your career with a thriving industry leader in Oakville, ON? Randstad is currently seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator to join a dynamic team. In this role, the successful candidate will play a critical part in orchestrating seamless supply chain workflows, managing inventory accuracy, and coordinating ground transportation across North America. As a Logistics Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will center on managing inbound and outbound shipment scheduling, tracking SKU inventory levels at specialized cold storage and frozen warehouse facilities, and overseeing final‑mile deliveries. Working within a fast‑paced 3PL environment, you will bridge communication between warehouse operations, carriers, and client partners. You will evaluate shipment requirements to determine the most cost‑effective freight solutions—balancing Full Truckload (FTL) and Less‑Than‑Truckload (LTL) options—while maintaining strict temperature control standards for sensitive food products. This role is ideal for a proactive Logistics Coordinator who enjoys data‑driven inventory control, operational problem‑solving, and enjoys continuous learning.

  • Hybrid work model allowing 2 to 3 days per week working remotely, with office days in Oakville, ON.
  • Afternoon shift 12:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits package with a 50/50 employer‑employee cost split.
  • Standard 35‑hour workweek with paid overtime (1.5x) or time‑in‑lieu options after 40 hours.
  • Generous paid vacation starting at 2 weeks, progressing to 3 weeks at 5 years and 4 weeks at 10 years.
  • Structured training program including dedicated shadowing and 1‑month and 3‑month milestone check‑ins.
  • Long‑term career growth opportunities into team lead roles across expanding manufacturing & logistics divisions.
  • Welcoming business casual office environment with a collaborative, team‑first culture.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, dispatch, and track inbound and outbound freight across North American transportation networks within the manufacturing & logistics domain.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate SKU inventory levels at frozen warehouse facilities, conducting regular stock counts and data reconciliation.
  • Schedule and confirm pickup and delivery appointments with receiving departments, warehouse managers, and final‑mile carriers.
  • Evaluate shipping specifications to recommend and execute LTL or Full Truckload (FTL) transit routes efficiently.
  • Oversee temperature‑controlled freight requirements to ensure strict product safety and quality compliance throughout transit.
  • Facilitate ground transportation arrangements for international export shipments while ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
  • Utilize Teds Transportation software, WMS platforms, and Excel to extract inventory reports and share real‑time updates with clients.
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal teams, drivers, and external partners using MS Teams, email, and phone.
  • Identify potential delivery delays or inventory discrepancies proactively and implement effective shipment recovery plans.
  • Foster strong relationships with preferred transport carriers to maintain high service levels and cost‑effective freight movement.

  • Deep understanding of 3PL logistics operations, supply chain workflows, LTL/FTL routing, and inventory control.
  • Outstanding problem‑solving capabilities to handle shipment recoveries, scheduling changes, and temperature monitoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional client interaction and carrier coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
