We are actively seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our People Services Team. As a strategic partner, you will work closely with our Labour Relations leader to provide expert HR advice and guidance to an assigned client group, ensuring alignment with HR best practices and hospital strategic goals.

Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend work

Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site, with occasional travel to Finch and Church sites

Labour Group: Non-Union

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Labour Relations

Responsibilities
  • Provide HR consulting, advice, and planning services to managers and directors
  • Act as a trusted business partner influencing change and delivering solutions in employee and labour relations
  • Offer proactive HR planning and advice for operational and workforce planning
  • Lead and coordinate people management processes with internal clients
  • Guide on workplace violence, discrimination, harassment, and return-to-work issues
  • Manage complex employee grievances, investigations, and dispute resolutions
  • Represent the organization at mediations and partner with legal counsel as needed
  • Develop investigation reports and recommend disciplinary actions or terminations
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend management actions
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Deliver education programs for client managers on HR processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or Labour/Industrial Relations or equivalent experience
  • CHRL certification is an asset
  • HRPA membership preferred
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience in a fast-paced, unionized healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of Ontario employment laws and regulations
  • Strong skills in investigation, analysis, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management
