Job summary

Lynn Rodens is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support a large industrial manufacturing operation in Thunder Bay. You will partner with operations leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies across workforce planning, ER, leadership development, and performance management.

The role reports to the Director of HR and will require up-to-date knowledge of employment standards, labour law, and union relations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in HR, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
• 3+ years progressive HR experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience in unionized environment and interpreting collective agreements.
• Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights, and labour legislation.
• Excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AI productivity tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning, succession, organizational design, and leadership development.
• Advise leaders on complex employee and organizational matters.
• Analyze absenteeism, turnover, productivity, and workforce trends and implement improvements.
• Strengthen performance management, accountability, and employee development practices.
• Support labour relations in a unionized environment, including investigations, discipline, grievances, and collective agreement interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, labour legislation, and company policies.
• Support employee engagement, communication, recognition, and workplace culture initiatives.
• Use workforce data to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 + Annual Bonus (16-20 percent)
