Job summary

Jarlette Health Services is expanding its Human Resources team and seeking two HR Business Partners to work directly with managers and leaders across Ontario-based homes. You will navigate employee and labour relations, recruitment, retention, safety, WSIB, and legislation while shaping HR delivery across the organization.

You’ll collaborate with an experienced HR team, enjoy autonomy to make an impact, and travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • CHRP designation or pursuing it is acceptable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of provincial and federal employment legislation.
  • Unionized environment experience is an asset.
  • Long-Term Care or healthcare HR experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem identification, analytical thinking, and resolution skills.
  • Ability to travel and hold a valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees on policies and regulations.
  • Support recruitment, retention, attendance, performance, and engagement initiatives.
  • Interpret and apply collective agreements in daily HR matters.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee HR records and reports.
  • Prepare workforce data and analyses to inform decisions.
  • Research legislation and best practices; propose improvements.
  • Support WSIB claims management and return-to-work processes.
  • Assist with quality assurance, risk management, and safety programs.
  • Contribute to ongoing HR policy implementation and evaluation.
  • Respond to HR inquiries from staff and leadership promptly.

Jarlette Health Services is growing, and so is our Human Resources team. We are excited to welcome two

Human Resources Business Partners to our team;one position created through an internal move and one newly created position as we continue to expand our HR department.

As an HRBP, you won't be sitting on the sidelines. You'll work directly with managers and leaders across our homes, helping navigate employee and labour relations, recruitment and retention, attendance, health and safety, WSIB, legislation, and a wide range of HR challenges and opportunities.

This is a role where every day is different. You'll have the opportunity to build relationships, navigate labour and union matters, investigate and solve problems, provide practical HR and labour relations advice, research legislation and best practices, support our leaders, and help shape how HR is delivered across our organization. You'll have the support of an experienced HR team while also having the independence to make your mark.

The following traits and qualifications are required:

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management;
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in Human Resources preferred;
  • Must have or be working towards the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation;
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple Human Resource areas and applicable provincial and federal legislation;
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment would be an asset;
  • Previous experience in Long-Term Care or another healthcare environment would be an asset;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong problem identification, analytical thinking, and resolution skills;
  • Excellent time and project management skills;
  • Strong research, report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills;
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide practical HR advice;
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new software and technology;
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education and professional development;
  • Must be computer literate. Working knowledge of Google Suite is an asset;
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and be willing to travel as required.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees on policies, collective agreements, legislation, standards, regulations, compensation, benefits, and other HR matters;
  • Support employee and labour relations matters, including interpretation and application of collective agreements;
  • Support recruitment, retention, attendance management, performance management, employee engagement, and recognition initiatives;
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee and HR records;
  • Prepare HR reports, workforce data, and analysis to support decision-making and business planning;
  • Research legislation, best practices, policies, and processes and provide recommendations;
  • Support WSIB claims management, return-to-work processes, and appeals;
  • Participate in location visits and provide HR support related to quality assurance, risk management, occupational health and safety, and CQI;
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of HR policies, programs, and procedures;
  • Respond to and resolve HR inquiries from employees, managers, and internal stakeholders;
  • Support employee engagement and satisfaction surveys, performance and appraisal programs, and employee recognition initiatives;
  • Maintain current job descriptions and HR-related systems and records;
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development;
  • Perform other duties as required.
