Job summary

St. Angela’s Meadow Care Centre is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support day-to-day office operations with a front-line reception role. You will handle telephone and in-person inquiries from residents, families, and community partners, and assist in payroll processing every other week.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of office experience, strong computer skills (Google Suite), and excellent organizational abilities. Prior experience with seniors is considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years of office experience.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in a related field is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Google Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to communicate accurately with high attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.
  • Customer service experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with seniors is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day general office administration support.
  • Serve as front-line receptionist for residents, families, and community partners.
  • Bi-weekly payroll preparation and processing.
  • Maintain resident records and filing systems to meet legal standards.
  • Assist with managing resident trust accounts, administrator's account, and petty cash.

Meadow Park Chatham now known as St. Angela’s Meadow Care Centre is a fully accredited long term care home in Chatham, Ontario and serves 160 residents. Chatham is the urban centre of Chatham-Kent, a large municipality in Southwestern Ontario located between Windsor (approximately 80 km to the west) and London (approximately 115 km to the east). It is known for its fertile farmland, a diverse economy of manufacturing and agriculture, and rich history, including its role in the Underground Railroad.

Join our team as an Administrative Assistant!

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day general office administration operations. In addition, this position will provide front-line reception and act as a first point of contact for the home with regard to telephone and in-person inquiries from residents, family members, community partners and other parties.

Key duties also include the bi-weekly preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring the accurate maintenance of resident records, establishing working and filing systems to ensure office documentation meets legal and legislative standards and assisting in maintaining resident trust accounts, administrator’s account and petty cash

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ office experience
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in related field an asset
  • Strong computer skills with a demonstrated ability to use a variety of software programs including the Google suite of programs
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficient at balancing multiple tasks and setting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate accurately with high attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Customer Service experience an asset
  • Experience working with seniors an asset
