The Villa Retirement Lodge is a prestigious and licensed retirement community in Midland, Ontario and offers 154 modern and impeccable suites. Midland is a vibrant town on Georgian Bay and is approximately 50 km north of Barrie and 48 km north-west of Orillia. The community is known as the gateway to the 30,000 islands and draws tourists with its natural beauty, water-based activities, and numerous parks and cottages. Midland hosts various cultural events, such as the annual Butter Tart Festival, and has a lively downtown area with unique shops, restaurants, and a vibrant arts scene.

Join our team as an Administrative Assistant!

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day general office administration operations. In addition, this position will provide frontline reception and act as a first point of contact for the home with regard to telephone and in-person inquiries from residents, family members, community partners and other parties.

Key duties also include the bi-weekly preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring the accurate maintenance of resident records, establishing working and filing systems to ensure office documentation meets legal and legislative standards and assisting in maintaining resident trust accounts, administrator’s account and petty cash

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ office experience
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in related field an asset
  • Strong computer skills with a demonstrated ability to use a variety of software programs including the Google suite of programs
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficient at balancing multiple tasks and setting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate accurately with high attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Customer Service experience an asset
  • Experience working with seniors an asset
