The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, partnering closely with operational leadership, and providing practical HR guidance in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted HR advisor to employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, attendance, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Partner with leadership to identify staffing needs and support workforce planning.
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding programs for new employees.
  • Support payroll administration, including timecard review, attendance tracking, payroll audits, and issue resolution.
  • Administer employee benefits, pension programs, leaves of absence, disability claims, and related employee inquiries.
  • Maintain vacation, sick leave, attendance, and employee records.
  • Prepare HR and regulatory reporting, including WSIB, EHT, pension, and other compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate mandatory training programs and support leadership development initiatives.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on employee-related matters and sound people-management practices.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Stay current on Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with payroll, finance, operations, and health and safety teams.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, employee communications, and other organizational initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, ideally within a Generalist, HR Advisor, or HR Business Partner capacity.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, production, or similar operational environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA).
  • Practical experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, attendance, and progressive discipline.
  • Exposure to health and safety compliance and WSIB is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, payroll administration, benefits, and disability management.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the confidence to work effectively with employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Highly organized and able to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong coaching skills and the ability to influence managers in making sound people decisions.
What’s Offered
  • 18-month contract (potential conversion)
  • $80,000–$90,000 annual salary
  • 10% bonus
  • Company phone and laptop
  • Broad exposure to plant leadership and the opportunity to take ownership of a full HR portfolio
  • Potential opportunity for permanent employment based on performance and future business needs; however, permanent conversion is not guaranteed

This position is primarily office-based with regular interaction and presence on the manufacturing floor. The successful candidate should be comfortable working closely with employees and leaders in an active production environment.
