Working closely with the Human Resources and Health & Safety Manager and operational leaders, you will take substantial ownership of day-to-day HR and Health & Safety activities.

What You’ll Do
Health & Safety
  • Lead the day‑to‑day administration and consistent execution of the company's Health & Safety program across multiple locations
  • Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, meetings, documentation, recommendations, and action items.
  • Document and support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are followed through to completion
  • Support safety inspections, audits, Ministry of Labour requirements, customer compliance, and safety documentation
  • Maintain safety policies, procedures, communications, and employee acknowledgements
Training & Compliance
  • Maintain company‑wide training and certification records and proactively track renewals and expiries
  • Coordinate mandatory technician training
  • Maintain accurate records within safety and compliance portals
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate full‑cycle recruitment support across a variety of positions
  • Develop job descriptions, scorecards, interview guides, and recruitment materials
  • Screen candidates, coordinate interviews and assessments, conduct reference checks, and support hiring decisions
  • Prepare approved offer documentation and employment agreements
  • Coordinate consistent pre‑onboarding, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding across all branches
Employee Support, Benefits & Payroll
  • Serve as a trusted first point of contact for routine employee and leader questions
  • Support employee relations matters, attendance concerns, performance conversations, and progressive discipline documentation
  • Administer benefit enrollments and changes
  • Provide payroll backup by reviewing hours, overtime, time‑off entries, and other payroll inputs for accuracy
  • Track leaves, return‑to‑work dates, accommodations, and related documentation
HR Systems, Reporting & Engagement
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR information across BambooHR and related systems.
  • Identify data gaps and improve the accuracy and consistency of HR and safety records

  • Contribute to HR process improvements, audits, policy updates, technology/AI‑enabled workflows, and other special projects
What We're Looking For

You are an HR professional who is organized, practical, approachable, and highly accountable. You don't wait to be reminded about important tasks - you anticipate what needs to happen, follow through, and close the loop.

You will be successful in this role if you:

  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of your responsibilities
  • Can manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail
  • Build trust and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Balance employee needs with practical business and operational requirements
  • Strong communication skills
  • Are comfortable working independently and solving problems with limited direction and knowing when to elevate an issue
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with sound judgment
  • Learn new systems, legislation, and processes quickly
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including meaningful Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Human Rights Code
  • Experience supporting a multi‑site, skilled trades, construction, service, manufacturing, or industrial workforce is strongly preferred
  • Experience with JHSC activities, incident documentation, mandatory training, and safety compliance
  • Strong HRIS and technology skills; experience with BambooHR and eCompliance is an asset.
  • CHRP designation and JHSC certification are assets, or willingness to obtain relevant certifications
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel between locations as required
Why This Opportunity?
