Job summary

Geosam Capital in Drummondville is seeking an HR Advisor to manage HR matters for our new plant. You will handle recruitment, health and safety, employee relations, training, and well-being to foster a people-centered culture.

We value hands-on work and strategic thinking, strong knowledge of Quebec HR laws, and fluency in French. You will collaborate with operations leaders to ensure compliant, high-quality HR services and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HRM, IR, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion with confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of HR laws in Quebec.
  • Fluent French; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the joint health and safety committee and contribute to the implementation of action plans and policies.
  • Support the HR department in managing disciplinary cases, complaints, and disputes, including preparing documents.
  • Collaborate with plant management on workforce planning; conduct initial phone screenings and coordinate interviews; manage onboarding and integration.
  • Draft, revise, and distribute HR communications; maintain up-to-date internal policies and procedures.

What you will do on a daily basis:
Health and Safety

Actively participate in the joint health and safety committee and contribute to the implementation of appropriate action plans and policies.

Employee Relations

Support the HR department in managing disciplinary cases, complaints, and disputes, including preparing the required documents.

Recruitment and Staffing
  • Collaborate with the plant management team on workforce planning.
  • Analyze candidate needs, conduct initial phone screenings, and coordinate interviews.
  • Manage the administrative formalities related to new hires and their integration.
  • Manage work permits for foreign workers.
Internal Communication
  • Draft, revise, and distribute HR communications (memos, appointment announcements, internal policies, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date internal policies and procedures in collaboration with the HR department.
Employee Engagement and Recognition
  • Support the Operations Manager and Production Manager in organizing recognition and Mobilization.
Compliance and Administration
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HR laws and regulations.
  • Track hours worked and maintain confidential files.
  • Participate in employee training management.
  • Provide quality service to employees, candidates, and suppliers/consultants.
  • Any other related tasks.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and meticulousness in Management of confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good knowledge of applicable HR laws and standards in Quebec.
  • Fluent French; knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
