Job summary

PCL Solar Constructors Canada Inc. in Ontario is seeking a proactive HSE Supervisor to lead safety programs on diverse projects. The role requires travel to project sites, empowering teams to mitigate risk and drive top safety performance.

You will implement plans, deliver training, and monitor compliance across sites, while shaping a robust safety culture and stakeholder relationships for ongoing project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry.
  • Solid understanding of OH&S legislation and HSE processes.
  • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to adopt new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices.
  • Identifies, evaluates, develops and delivers project specific HSE training.
  • Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
  • Leads and conducts project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
  • Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan.
  • Monitors and audits trade contractor HSE performance.
  • Participates in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees.

  • Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
  • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

The estimated salary range for this role is $84,000 - $115,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
