Job summary

ATCO Frontec is looking for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator for their site in Resolute Bay, NU. The coordinator will be pivotal in managing HSE risks and compliance, alongside a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring safety regulations are met and that effective training programs are executed. This role offers a 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off schedule with paid travel and accommodation.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Health and Safety
  • Experience with OHS cultural turnarounds in remote locations is an asset
  • Valid class 5 driver's license required

Job description

Description: ATCO Frontec is seeking an on-site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our HSE Department in Resolute Bay, NU. The HSE Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, coaching, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the HSE Management Program overall for Resolute Bay in conjunction with ATCO Frontec overall. The successful candidate will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team and assist in the mitigation and management of HSE risks.

Rotation: 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off, 10 hours per day, 7 days a week. Travel and accommodation are all paid.

Requirements:

  • Assists in processing, tracking, recording and reporting of accident and incidents data using Site Docs (e.g. total reportable injury rate, lost time injury rate, etc.).
  • Assists in the development and distribution of Health and Safety Communications to Internal Team members
  • Gather and Provide Site Management with weekly Safety Statistical Information
  • Ensure Training and Certifications are tracked and current
  • Support the development and execution of HSE Training Programs as required
  • Monitors and Tracks changes and updates in HSE Legislation in Canada
  • Assist with completing regular Site Audits, Corrective Actions and Annual HSE Audits
  • Prepare Toolbox Meetings, Weekly Site Safety Meetings for Site Management
  • Collect Safety Documentation for filing and sign off to ensure accuracy
  • Complete and Submit Safety Statistical Information for Monthly Global Stewardship Reports, Environmental Sustainability Reporting and Daily KPI Tracking.
  • Assist with ERP Program, from annual updates to mock and tabletop drills.
  • Track, Log and Monitor PPE use and inventory.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • NCSO Designation or scheduled to complete designation
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Health and Safety is required.
  • Experience with OHS cultural turn arounds; specifically in remote locations considered an asset
  • Possess a logical, methodical approach to his/her work and must be accurate when taking measurements and recording figures.
  • Experience and knowledge of health, safety and environment management systems are an asset
  • HSE data input, analysis, and report generation/manipulation skills are an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license
