Job summary

Cascades Scarborough is seeking an HR Technician to join KARIM HIRJI's team in Scarborough. You’ll support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and engagement while helping create a positive workplace culture in a manufacturing environment.

You’ll coordinate full-cycle recruitment, build relationships with employees, respond to inquiries, organize engagement initiatives, maintain HR records, and contribute to HR projects. On-site five days a week with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources or related field.
• 1–2 years HR experience via co-op, internship, or entry-level role.
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, engagement, or HR administration.
• Manufacturing/industrial environment experience is an asset.
• On-site five days per week with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities: postings, interviews, offers, onboarding.
• Build relationships with employees through floor presence and daily support.
• Respond to inquiries, document concerns, escalate as needed.
• Organize engagement initiatives, crew meetings, events and community activities.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in systems.
• Support onboarding, training coordination, communications, and HR projects.
• Contribute ideas to enhance employee experience and workplace culture.

Your Role

As HR Technician, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential. Your scope includes:

• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, offer administration, and onboarding support
• Build strong relationships with employees through regular floor presence and day‑to‑day support
• Respond to employee inquiries, document concerns, and elevate matters appropriately when required
• Organize employee engagement initiatives, crew meetings, recognition programs, community outreach activities, and workplace events
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, reports, and data within HR systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Support onboarding activities, training coordination, employee communications, and HR projects
• Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance the employee experience and strengthen workplace culture

What you bring

You're a natural fit for HR Technicianif you have:

• A certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 1 to 2 years of HR experience gained through a co‑op, internship, or entry‑level HR position
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, or HR administration activities
• Exposure to a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment is considered an asset
• Must be available to work on‑site five days per week and accommodate a flexible schedule, including occasional off shifts, based on operational needs.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• A friendly, approachable, confident, and service‑oriented communication style
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to quickly learn new HR systems
