Job summary

First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB) in Canada seeks an experienced Human Resources professional to advance HR services for First Nations communities. The role focuses on implementing HR practices, developing support plans, and delivering training to strengthen governance and financial management capabilities.

The successful candidate will lead HR initiatives, maintain records, and collaborate with a diverse team.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of HR experience; leadership experience is an asset.
CPHR designation preferred.
Experience using HRIS and Microsoft 365.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel including remote locations and outside regular hours.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with First Nations clients to support HR initiatives and training.
Meet with clients to understand HR needs and priorities.
Provide guidance, tools, and support for HR practices.
Develop HR support plans aligned with client goals.
Support performance management and succession planning.
Create and update job descriptions; assist with role changes.
Help establish processes for HR records management and protection.
Develop HR templates and tools, including forms and work plans.
Deliver training on HR practices, job design, and recordkeeping.
Maintain documentation and collaborate on special projects.
