Job summary

North Island College seeks a Human Resources Associate to coordinate HR transactions, onboard/offboard employees, and support recruitment and payroll processes. The position reports to the HR Advisor, with duties spanning HRIS maintenance, reporting, and collaboration with Payroll Benefits Associates.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Human Resource Management or Business Administration with HR courses.
• 3–5 years of HR experience in a complex multi-union environment.
• Experience with HRIS databases, service desk applications and payroll functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage HR service desk tickets and respond to complex issues within deadlines.
• Coordinate full-cycle onboarding and offboarding processes and related changes.
• Provide guidance to Payroll Benefits Associates and support technical projects.
• Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate submissions.
• Develop and analyze employment appointments from requisitions.
• Ensure adherence to policies, collective agreements and required regulations.
• Generate reports for committees and divisional needs.
• Handle leaves, contracts amendments and accurate record-keeping.
• Support recruitment by handling external inquiries and information for supervisors and candidates.
• Maintain accurate data entries in Colleague and related spreadsheets.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and position control.
• Communicate complex information clearly to internal/external audiences.
• Respond to information requests from departments, unions, agencies and applicants.
• Maintain filing systems under privacy laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
