Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is hiring an HR Operations Specialist in Enfield, NS to support the full employee lifecycle and partner with operational leaders to align people strategies with business objectives.

Reporting to the Director of HR, you will handle onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance while fostering engagement and organizational effectiveness. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HR principles, labour relations, employment law, and compliance.
• Ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced matrix environment.
• Strong recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to tailor messages.
• Organizational, time management, problem solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Discretion with confidential information and sound judgement.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR/related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Knowledge of employment laws; CPHR/SHRM asset; bilingual may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR resource for assigned units, guiding on employee relations, policies, procedures and agreements.
• Manage staffing approvals, offer letters, contracts, onboarding/offboarding, and records.
• Lead recruitment activities including screening, interviews, and onboarding initiatives.
• Partner with leaders to implement people strategies, workforce planning, and development programs.
• Support compensation and benefits administration with Payroll and Benefits teams.
• Ensure compliance with policies, employment legislation, drug/alcohol programs, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct investigations, coaching discussions, leaves of absence, and accommodation processes.
• Maintain workforce data in HR systems and support engagement programs.
