Job summary

Redwood Software in Canada seeks an experienced HR Manager for the Canada Center of Excellence to partner with engineering leaders and shape a high-performing culture. You will use people data, AI, and expert knowledge of Canadian employment standards to guide talent decisions, policy updates, and local execution aligned with Redwood's global strategy.

This onsite role requires building relationships, coaching managers, and driving performance and retention across a growing SaaS engineering team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience focused on employee relations.
  • Experience supporting R&D, Software Engineering or Product teams in SaaS.
  • Deep knowledge of Canadian and Ontario employment standards.
  • High emotional intelligence with coaching leaders.
  • Strong judgment balancing employee experience and business needs.
  • Strategic thinker using data to diagnose organizational challenges.
  • Curiosity with AI and data tools to improve workflows.
  • Global mindset across geographies and time zones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with R&D and Engineering leaders to align talent strategies with technical roadmaps and organizational priorities.
  • Coach managers from first-time managers through VPs on difficult conversations, performance, team dynamics, and building high-performing teams.
  • Champion an 'AI First' culture, helping leaders use automated tools and digital enablement to improve workflows.
  • Use people data and insights to identify trends and support informed talent decisions.
  • Lead Canada-specific HR policies, employment standards, and compliance aligned with Redwood’s global values.
  • Lead investigations and conflict resolution for the Canada team and support global cases as needed.
  • Draft, update, and maintain Canada HR policies and employee handbooks.
  • Act as onsite leader in Canada, supporting local leadership and employees.
  • Oversee end-to-end performance lifecycle in Engineering, including reviews and promotions.
  • Drive PIPs and remediation strategies with managers on performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Employee Experience to analyze engagement, stay interviews and attrition trends.
  • Support organizational change initiatives to strengthen performance and retention.
  • Leverage AI tools to streamline HR administration and workflows.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience to create a smooth onboarding for Canadian hires.
  • Coordinate with Total Rewards on benefits and employer branding for Canada.
