Scope Of Position

Human Resources Coordinator who will report to the Human Resources Manager, and be responsible for improving the competitiveness and profitability of the company by ensuring the hiring of qualified and experienced personnel, coaching and mentoring new employees, providing appropriate training plans for existing employees, and working harmoniously with all departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in full-cycle recruitment (on-boarding and off-boarding), including creating, posting, and managing job advertisements, screening, arranging interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Update employee files in HRIS system for new hires, changes, transfers, wage changes, and terminations.
  • Track and file all employee-related documents, such as performance warnings, reviews, policy sign-offs, etc.
  • Assist with benefits program management.
  • Ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports, maintain records, and submit reports to WSIB.
  • Support employees on HR-related topics.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule plant training including First Aid, Forklift/Material Handling, WHMIS, and OSHA safety training.
  • Schedule and prepare agendas for monthly employee meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Health and Safety Representative for safety committee meetings.
  • Support KAIZEN principles and activities.
  • Encourage GEAR activities to meet corporate goals.
  • Ensure personnel work safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties, including special projects.
Basic Requirements
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach employees at all levels and resolve issues effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle employee discipline and terminations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with TS16949 / ISO14001 systems is a plus.
  • CHRP designation or working towards it is an asset.
