Purpose

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on people management aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR solutions, counsel, and support to the business.
  • Develop ongoing, key relationships as a primary HR contact for Porcupine employees, Union, and managers.
  • Drive execution of HR programs, offering guidance, coaching, and facilitating information sessions as needed.
  • Contribute to projects, representing the region and ensuring local context is considered in program design.
  • Assist hiring managers in identifying recruitment needs and developing appropriate strategies.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to drive the recruitment process at the site level.
  • Collaborate with the HR Service Center to execute HR programs and services.
  • Manage processes for new hire inductions and first-day orientations.
  • Participate in Accommodation/Return to Work processes as required.
  • Engage in Union meetings as needed (e.g., grievances, arbitration).
  • Conduct HR investigations independently regarding misconduct, policy, and ethical violations.
  • Facilitate site HR program updates and training sessions.
  • Present HR-related information during workforce line-up meetings.

Training and Education

  • Post-secondary education required; degree or diploma in Human Resources preferred.
  • Attainment or pursuit of CHRP designation is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with HRIS and SAP is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced computer skills.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work within diverse cultural environments.
  • Excellent communication skills across various leadership levels.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience in the mining or natural resources sector is an asset.
