Job summary

The Link is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe and welcoming office environments across its main office and additional locations in Manitoba. Responsibilities include sanitizing spaces, restocking supplies, and supporting meetings and events.

The role requires reliability, physical stamina, and ability to travel between sites as needed. Salary ranges from 18.00 to 19.00 CAD per hour with a standard full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly, and some evenings

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or facilities cleaning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize office spaces, meeting rooms, reception areas and common areas.
  • Dust, wipe and disinfect desks, tables, chairs and high-touch surfaces.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop floors and manage waste disposal.
  • Restock supplies and maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas.
  • Report maintenance issues and follow safety procedures.
  • Support room setup and cleanup for meetings and events.
  • Travel between office locations if required.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, welcoming, and well organized office environments across The Link's main office and other office Locations. This role supports daily operations by ensuring office spaces, meeting rooms, washrooms, kitchens, common areas, entrances, and staff areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. The position plays an important role in supporting a professional, healthy, and respectful workplace for staff, visitors, youth, families, and community partners.


Key Responsibilities


  • Clean and sanitize office spaces, meeting rooms, reception areas, staff rooms, kitchens, washrooms, hallways, entrances, and other common areas.

  • Dust, wipe, and disinfect desks, tables, chairs, counters, door handles, light switches, railings, and other high-touch surfaces.

  • Vacuum carpets, sweep, mop, and maintain hard-surface floors as required.

  • Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure waste is disposed of appropriately.

  • Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, sanitizer, garbage bags, and other housekeeping materials.

  • Maintain cleaning equipment, carts, storage areas, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, supply shortages, or building concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Follow safe work practices, infection prevention expectations, WHMIS requirements, and organizational health and safety procedures.

  • Complete routine and periodic cleaning tasks, including deeper cleaning of kitchens, appliances, windows, baseboards, walls, and other areas as assigned.

  • Support room setup and cleanup for meetings, training sessions, staff events, and other office activities as required.

  • Respect confidentiality and maintain professional conduct while working in office spaces where sensitive information may be present.

  • Work independently and manage time effectively to complete assigned cleaning schedules across multiple office areas.


Qualifications and Experience


  • Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, office cleaning, commercial cleaning, or facilities cleaning experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, cleaning products, and basic infection prevention standards is considered an asset.

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.

  • Strong reliability, punctuality, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Respectful, professional, and service-oriented approach when interacting with staff, visitors, and community members.

  • Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and using cleaning equipment for extended periods.

  • Ability to travel between office locations as required. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation may be considered an asset depending on site requirements.

  • Successful completion of required background checks may be required in accordance with organizational policy.


Working Conditions


  • This is an in-person role based at the main office and other office locations.

  • The role requires physical activity throughout the shift, including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying cleaning supplies or equipment.

  • The role may require occasional flexibility in work schedule to support office needs, special events, or urgent cleaning requirements.

  • The employee will be expected to follow all applicable health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment where required.

SALARY: 18.00 to 19.00 Per Hour.


HOURS OF WORK: Full-Time 40 hours per week Monday to Friday Noon to 9:00 PM (1 Hour unpaid lunch) including some earlier/later shifts and weekends.


NUMBER OF POSITIONS: One (1) Full time Permanent position
