Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria is seeking compassionate individuals to provide in-home, non-medical caregiving in Victoria, BC. You will offer companionship, assist with light housekeeping, and follow each client’s Plan of Care to keep them safe and comfortable in their own homes.

The role emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and a patient, caring approach. Training and flexible scheduling support your continued growth and client relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR & First Aid Certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are assets.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical in-home care per each client’s Plan of Care.
• Offer companionship through conversation, activities, and social engagement.
• Support clients’ emotional well-being and mental alertness.
• Assist with light housekeeping: vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishwashing, bathroom/kitchen cleaning.
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality.

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non-medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support clients’ emotional well-being and mental alertness
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality

Physical & Working Conditions

• Regular physical activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 12 kg / 25 lbs)

• Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
• Work performed within clients’ homes in the community
