Job summary

Comfort Keepers is seeking compassionate, dependable individuals to provide non-medical in-home support for seniors in Vancouver area. The housekeeper will offer companionship, assist with daily living, and follow each client’s Plan of Care to promote comfort, dignity, independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities include attentive care based on Plan of Care, light housekeeping, and maintaining client confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Current CPR & First Aid Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered strong assets
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and organized
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to quality client care
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully
• Professional attitude with honesty and integrity

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non‑medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support clients’ emotional well‑being and mental alertness
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality

Physical & Working Conditions

• Regular physical activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 12 kg / 25 lbs) –– -Manual dexterity and strength in both hands required
• Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
• Work performed within clients’ homes in the community
