Job summary

Comfort Keepers is seeking a compassionate Housekeeper to provide non-medical, in-home support for seniors in the Vancouver area. You will help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent by delivering companionship and light housekeeping according to each Plan of Care.

You’ll document care notes, follow safety procedures, and maintain confidentiality while building meaningful relationships with clients in their own homes.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are assets.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual and organized.
• Compassionate, patient and committed to quality client care.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical in-home care based on each client’s Plan of Care.
• Offer companionship and engage in conversation, reading, activities.
• Support emotional well-being and mental alertness.
• Assist with light housekeeping: vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishwashing, bathroom and kitchen cleaning.
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality.

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non‑medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support clients’ emotional well‑being and mental alertness
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality

Physical & Working Conditions

• Regular physical activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 12 kg / 25 lbs) –– -Manual dexterity and strength in both hands required

• Work performed within clients’ homes in the community

Our office serves seniors in Vancouver and surrounding communities, including Richmond, Burnaby, Vancouver, etc. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
