Job summary

Aspira Hygate Waterloo Retirement Living in Waterloo, Ontario is seeking a Casual Housekeeper to join our caring team. You will help provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, supporting daily life with respect and compassion.

This on-site role offers flexible casual hours and the chance to build meaningful relationships with residents while upholding Sienna Senior Living's commitment to dignity and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience is required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Able to pass Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and spot cleaning.
• Disinfect resident rooms and common areas according to procedures.
• Prepare rooms for new occupants, ensuring spaces are clean and tour-ready.
• Contribute to a safe, clean environment while respecting resident privacy.

As a Housekeeper you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

• Ability to complete a wide range of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and spot cleaning walls, windows, and doors
• Skilled in cleaning and disinfecting resident rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and common areas according to assigned schedules and procedures
• Attention to detail when preparing rooms for new occupants, ensuring spaces are clean, welcoming, and tour-ready at all times
• Strong understanding of resident privacy and professionalism while working in occupied living spaces
• Compassionate, dependable, and motivated by meaningful work that supports seniors’ quality of life
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
• Flexible and willing to assist with additional duties as assigned

What you need to know:

• Previous housekeeping experience is required
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
