Everwild in Canmore is hiring a part-time Host & Server Assistant to welcome guests and deliver a warm dining experience. You will manage reservations, coordinate seating, and assist in smooth service with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Join our prestigious fine dining restaurant as a Host & Server Assistant and be the face of our establishment. As a vital member of our team, you will provide exceptional customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our esteemed guests. With your exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality, you will contribute to delivering a memorable dining experience that exceeds our patrons' expectations.

Salary: $17-$18/hr + gratuity
Shifts: Part-time/Permanent. Weekdays, weekends, days and evenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression of the restaurant.
• Manage the reservation system, accurately recording and organizing guest information, special requests, and table assignments.
• Coordinate with the restaurant staff to ensure efficient table turnover and smooth seating arrangements.
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage the seating queue effectively, striving to minimize guest waiting times.
• Familiarize guests with the restaurant layout, including dining areas, bar, lounge, and restrooms.
• Communicate effectively with the wait staff, kitchen team, and management to ensure a seamless flow of service.
• Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a courteous and professional manner, striving to resolve issues promptly and exceed expectations.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, lobby, and waiting areas.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant's menu offerings, specials, and wine list.
• Display a strong knowledge of the local area, including attractions, events, and accommodations, to provide recommendations to guests when requested.
• Uphold high standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct, adhering to the restaurant's policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a host/hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment is highly preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with guests in a personable and courteous manner.
• Exceptional organization and time management abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with composure and grace.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
• Proficiency in using reservation management software and other relevant technology is an asset.
• Knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine pairing, and menu offerings is desirable.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or a related field is a plus.
