Job summary

Hospitalité Canada is seeking a Host Ambassador to qualify host families and support the student housing program in the Niagara Falls area. The role is permanent and full‑time, with a seasonal cap of 30 hours per week, paid hourly.

Who We Are

Hospitalité Canada provides student accommodation services across the Niagara Region. We understand the immense planning and preparation that our students go through prior to their arrival at their new host family’s home. With that in mind, it is our goal to help make their transition to Canada and Canadian lifestyle as easy and exciting as possible.

For over 20 years, Hospitalité Canada has worked closely with local school districts and private schools by successfully accommodating thousands of young students, from over 25 countries, with carefully selected host families. Our staff nurtures a close relationship with our families in an effort to create successful placements and the best possible experience for both host families and students.

About the Host Ambassador position

Reporting to the Host Capacity Lead, the Host Ambassador is primarily responsible for qualifying new and existing host families that meet Hospitalité Canada’s standard of care.

This is a permanent full-time position (up to 30 hours per week seasonally), compensated with an hourly wage between $24.00-$26.00.

Our Interview/Home Visit and Revisit Compensation Policy applies for the interview and host file completion.

This is a hybrid role with in-person work in the Niagara Falls region and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person interviews/visits (for new hosts) and revisits (for existing hosts) at their homes to ensure the rooms and family environment meet the required standards to validate the information that was given during the virtual interview;

  • Email data and supporting documentation (ie. criminal record checks, host agreements, etc.) following all protocols for due diligence and data integrity;

The successful candidate will have
  • Excellent sales and interpersonal skills with the willingness and ability to promote and sell the Host program;

  • Positive communication skills including conflict resolution;

  • Ability to work in a team and maintain and develop relationships with colleagues and their local community;

  • Working knowledge of utilizing an email client or webmail;

  • Effective business writing skills, strong problem solving and organizational skills, including attention to detail;

  • Knowledge of international students and their cultures;

This role requires the successful candidate to clear a Criminal Record Check, and vulnerable sector check, to have a full and valid drivers license with a reliable vehicle that has at least 2 million auto insurance liability coverage, a mobile phone for emergency support, a digital camera, and access to high-speed internet.
