Job summary

The Guild in Calgary, part of OLIVER & BONACINI, seeks an energetic Host to welcome guests, manage seating, and help ensure a smooth flow of service. You will greet guests, manage reservations, and coordinate with staff to optimize seating and guest experiences.

This full-time role requires strong communication, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a passion for hospitality. Flexible shifts, including evenings and holidays, are expected, with gratuities and dining discounts available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Calm under pressure, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable using reservation and table management systems (OpenTable) - preferred.
• A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
• Valid Smart Serve Certification Required.
• Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, professional, and timely manner.
• Manage reservation and walk-in traffic using Open Table.
• Monitor table rotation and coordinate with Front Of House and Back Of House teams to optimize guest flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area.
• Answer guest inquiries and assist with special requests, wait times, or accommodations.
• Support the overall guest experience with a friendly and attentive approach.
• Assist with bussing tables and support the team by running food and beverages as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, our Hosts create a positive guest experience that begins with a proper greeting. They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees. Hosts leave a lasting impression with all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.
