Job summary

UNC Health in Holly Springs, NC, is seeking a full-time Protective Services Officer to help ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors. You will enforce security policies, monitor access, and respond to emergencies.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid North Carolina driver’s license, CPR certification, and at least one year of security-related experience. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• CPR certification required before end of 12 months of employment.
• Minimum of one year of prior work experience.
• Must be proficient in oral and written communication.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively via two‑way radio, computer, email and phone with staff, visitors and patients.
• Responds to emergencies, assists with patient custody and escorts as needed.
• Controls patient and visitor entry to the ED and screens for proper authorization.
• Completes investigations, trespass and incident reports with narrative in the records system.
• Escorts employees and visitors to parking areas and documents security hazards.
