Job summary

UNC Health's UNC Rex Holly Springs Emergency Department is a 24-bed unit where a Nursing Assistant I assists with patient care, safety, and responds to patient needs in the ER, including triage, minor treatment and acute areas.

This part-time, on-site role features a 24-hour work week with day shifts. Requires high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, Nursing Assistant I or EMT licensure, and 3–6 months of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I listing or EMT licensure required by NC Health/ DHHS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prefer three to six months of relevant experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Takes and records vital signs and measurements as directed.
• Records intake and outputs as directed.
• Performs urinary catheterization or Foley procedures as documented.
• Sets up area for sterile procedures and documents accordingly.
• Performs minor orthopedic splinting under physician assistant direction.
• Documents skin breakdowns and notifies RN; transcribes physician orders.
