Job summary

BMO in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a Mortgage Specialist to build a pipeline of home financing opportunities through a robust referral network. You will guide customers through the mortgage application and processing steps and collaborate with branch teams to finalize documentation and referrals.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, proactive marketing, and identifying cross-sell opportunities, with training and a strong pay-structure including commission and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth understanding of mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
• Expert knowledge of self-management and teamwork, personal lending, relationship sales and management.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates, builds, and manages relationships with a referral network to create a pipeline of new mortgage business.
• Identifies sales opportunities and refers to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
• Develops and executes marketing and sales programs to drive results.
• Guides customers through mortgage application and processing activities.
• Partners with branch teams to hand off customers, finalize mortgage documentation, and refer customers with non-mortgage needs.
• Provides responsive service and supports the execution of strategic initiatives.
