Job summary

Bison Transport Inc in Mississauga is seeking a Fleet Dispatcher to manage day-to-day activity of the driver fleet, ensuring timely dispatch and accurate information flow to customers.

You will handle satellite and phone communications, document issues, and work to resolve day-to-day challenges for drivers and the company. The role requires organization, strong communication and punctuality, with opportunities to grow in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Dispatch experience is required.
• Educational background in SCM (or Business).
• Customer service experience in a similar environment.
• Well organized, an excellent communicator, and have a keen sense of timeliness.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, communication, problem solving and planning abilities.
• Knowledge of the transportation industry and North American geography is considered assets.
• Able to quickly adapt to changes, shift focus, meet deadlines, and complete time-sensitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch day-to-day activity of the assigned driver fleet.
• Transmit and receive information relevant to the driver and customer requirements.

Job description

As a Fleet Dispatcher, you will be expected to execute the day to day activity of your assigned driver fleet. This includes monitoring of the fleet, accurately distributing, receiving and updating information. You would be responsible for identifying and participating in the resolution of issues relating to day to day activity of the Driver. You must be well organized, an excellent communicator and have a keen sense of timeliness in carrying out daily activities.

Specific Responsibilities include: Dispatch: This involves the transmitting and receiving of all information relevant to the driver/cartage company performing his/her duties within the Company and customer requirements. Satellite and Telephone Management: Handling of all driver related satellite messages or calls within assigned and overflow queues. Reporting: Recognition, communication and documentation of situations that should be reviewed by other parties, for information, action and record keeping purposes. Problem Resolution: Working on behalf of both the Driver and the Company to resolve any day to day issues that may arise. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time, on a daily or permanent basis (i.e. special projects, training seminars, weekend planning and other job related tasks).

Our Ideal Candidate will possess: Dispatch experience is required to be considered for this role. Educational background in Supply Chain Management (or other relevant area such as Business).
