Job summary

Ontario Public Service in North Bay/Sudbury/Huntsville is recruiting a Design and Construction Project Manager to lead complex highway design and construction projects from pre-engineering to post-construction, including oversight of consultants and contracts.

You will coordinate multiple projects across northern Ontario, assess technical documentation, monitor expenditures, and provide strategic direction with strong leadership and communication to liaise with stakeholders and the public.

Qualifications

Knowledge of contract administration practices for highways and bridges.
Financial control to forecast and monitor project expenditures.
Civil engineering theories and construction practices with emphasis on contract management.
Highway design and construction operations for infrastructure components.
Geotechnical and structural design for complex transportation projects.

Responsibilities

Provide overall project direction and consultant oversight from pre-construction to post-construction phases.
Ensure drawings, reports and documentation comply with project requirements.
Monitor expenditures, forecast costs and approve contractor/consultant payments.
Provide technical advice on design and contract administration issues.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with consultants/contractors and the public.
