Job summary

Ontario Ministry of Transportation is seeking a Design and Construction Project Manager to lead complex highway design and construction projects, including the four-laning of Highway 69 from Parry Sound to Sudbury. The role offers opportunities to oversee multidisciplinary teams and coordinate consultants from pre-construction to post-construction.

Qualifications

The role requires strong knowledge of contract administration for highway and bridge projects.
Financial control to forecast, monitor expenditures and ensure policy compliance.
Solid civil engineering foundations with emphasis on contract management.
Experience with highway design, construction operations and infrastructure components.

Responsibilities

Provide overall project direction and consultant oversight from pre-construction to post-construction.
Assess drawings, reports and contract documentation for completeness and compliance.
Monitor expenditures, forecast costs and verify contractor/ consultant payments.
Provide technical advice on design, constructability and contract administration issues.
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and advise on project decisions and requirements.
Represent the ministry in public forums where project aspects may be controversial.
