Job summary

York Construction in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a high-volume AP function within our Shared Services team. You will serve as the main contact for vendors, manage invoicing in Yardi, and provide clear payment timelines.

This is an experienced role handling overdue balances and ongoing inquiries. With 3–5 years in AP, you will ensure accuracy, coordinate payments, and support month-end close.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• 3-5 years of direct experience in a high-volume accounts payable role.
• Construction accounts payable experience preferred, including commitments, progress billings and holdback.
• Experience using Yardi preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the AP billing inbox: triage, tag, route and follow up on incoming correspondence.
• Act as the main contact for vendor payment inquiries and provide approximate payment dates.
• Resolve vendor disputes, short pays, holdback questions and statement queries.
• Upload invoices to Yardi and assist with invoice coding.
• Prepare and coordinate cheque, online and EFT payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements to Yardi and resolve discrepancies.
• Liaise with project managers and internal stakeholders for timely approvals.
• Cross-coverage for York Realty accounts payable during vacations and month-end.
• Assist with month-end procedures as required.
