Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus seeks a Simulation Technician to support high-fidelity nursing and paramedicine simulations. You will prepare, run, and refine realistic scenarios in a safe, controlled environment using robotic mannequins and diverse tech platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Nursing; or a Paramedicine certificate; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in an acute care clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and current knowledge of procedures and consumable medical products used in healthcare and in simulation, including operation of simulation software.
• Technical proficiency with electronic and digital medical equipment and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ability to learn and utilize new applications and software platforms to enhance simulation experiences.
• Training or experience at the introductory level in the use of MS Office suite.
• Effective communication (listening, oral, written) skills.

Responsibilities

• Offer technical assistance for simulations designed for nursing, paramedic, health sciences, and other programs.
• Deliver high-fidelity scenarios using multiple platforms to provide life-like learning in a safe simulated environment with robotic mannequins.
• Prepare and disassemble simulation equipment and setting: beds, charts, props, and manikins.
• Collaborate with faculty to input event data and maintain data integrity.
• Assist faculty and learning technology experts with virtual simulation requirements and possibilities.
• Work with team to manage assets, oversee maintenance, and procure supplies and equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvements as part of the Simulation Learning Centre team.
