Job summary

PNR RailWorks in Toronto is seeking a Mini Tie Gang Hi-Rail Excavator Operator to perform maintenance and construction on track structures. You will operate hi-rail equipment, install track ties, and support nearby crews to meet safety, quality, and schedule goals.

The role requires a valid G license, proven excavator experience, and strong mechanical skills. You will follow safety procedures, document usage, and be flexible with shifts and locations across territories.

Qualifications

Excavator operating experience.
A valid full class G driver's license.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks.
Experience using hand tools, power tools and hydraulic equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
Ability to read and understand construction and maintenance specifications.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
English language (written and spoken) required.

Responsibilities

Operates hi-rail excavator with ground crew to support installation and repair of track ties.
Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment with focus on safety.
Operates equipment safely and efficiently per regulations and company policies.
Keeps equipment clean and conducts safety checks.
Notifies supervisors and mechanics for repairs.
Maintains records of material and equipment usage and issues.
Adapts schedule and location to operational requirements.
During downtime, may operate snow-fighting equipment.
