Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of construction equipment on customer sites. You will test equipment, assist with shop repairs, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Red Seal Journeyperson license or equivalent experience, 4+ years of relevant work, a valid G-class license, and ownership of basic tools. Overtime and on-call work are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.
• Valid class G driver's license with clean driving record (≤3 demerit points).
• Red Seal / Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician License (421A or 310T) or equivalent experience.
• Must own tools.
• Willing to work overtime and be on-call.
• Strong knowledge of diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Comfortable with multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Self-starter and independent worker with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of construction equipment on customer jobsites.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Assist with in-shop maintenance and repairs.
• Provide high standard of customer service in all interactions.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
