Job summary

The City of Grande Prairie is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintenance Worker II to support its Engineering & Transportation Department. Responsibilities include snow plowing with a team, operating multiple heavy machines, and ensuring safe traffic flow on priority roads.

Compensation is provided under CUPE Collective Agreement; standard workweek is about 40 hours with seasonal 24/7 coverage in winter. Comprehensive benefits are offered upon employment.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Driver's License (Class III with Air Endorsement preferred).
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a Motor Grader, Street Sweeper, and Loader.
• Experience in Asphalt Placement Program and Snow Removal Operations.
• Ability to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow on priority roadways with a team of graders and loaders.
• Maintaining safe passage of traffic.
• Operate equipment listed under Heavy Equipment Operator (EOII) and Transportation Maintenance Worker II as required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
