Job summary

The Foothills Regional Landfill & Resource Recovery Centre is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintenance person to safely operate landfill equipment and perform daily maintenance. You will work closely with a team to ensure efficient, compliant operations and contribute to site safety and productivity.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of heavy equipment experience, Alberta Class 5 licence, and the ability to obtain a satisfactory driving abstract; Class 3Q is an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience on wheeled or tracked equipment.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence with satisfactory driving abstract.
• Class 3Q licence is an asset.
• Knowledge of machine servicing and maintenance.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly with staff and management.
• SWANA or related waste handling courses are assets.

The Foothills Regional Landfill & Resource Recovery Centre (LRRC) consists of a landfill operation, throw & go recycling area, compost pad, household hazardous waste collection area, and a salvage and recycling non-profit organization. The Foothills Regional LRRC is inviting applications for a Heavy Equipment Operator/ Maintenance.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of all landfills heavy equipment and performs daily maintenance.

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years heavy equipment operating experience on either wheeled or track equipment.


• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence.


• Must be able to provide a satisfactory driving abstract.


• Class 3Q licence, an asset.


• Must have knowledge on machine servicing and maintenance.


• Must work well in a team environment and be able to clearly communicate with management and other staff.


• SWANA or other recognized courses in waste handling, an asset.
