Job summary

Caron Equipment is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for local projects in Timmins, Ontario.

We require a minimum of three years' operating experience on construction, mining, earthworks, or similar environments, with a valid license as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and graders per project needs.
  • Perform pre-operation checks and maintenance tasks.
  • Follow blueprints/site plans to meet specs.
  • Follow safety policies and use PPE.
  • Communicate with crew via radio for coordination.
  • Maintain logs of hours and fuel consumption.
  • Assist with routine repairs and environmental compliance.

Job description

Caron Equipment is a growing company, and we are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team for our local projects.

We are seeking skilled and dependable operators with a minimum of three (3) years of heavy equipment operating experience in construction, mining, earthworks, or similar environments.

The successful candidates will safely and efficiently operate various types of heavy construction and earth moving equipment while contributing to the successful completion of our projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and graders to perform tasks such as digging, spreading and levelling earth, and material transportation.
  • Conduct per-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as necessary.
  • Understand and follow blueprints and site plans to meet project specifications.
  • Comply with all safety policies and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate with other construction team members using radio or other communication tools to ensure safe and effective coordination of operations.
  • Report any faults or irregularities in equipment performance promptly to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate logs or records as required (e.g., usage hours, fuel consumption).
  • Assist with routine maintenance and emergency repairs of the equipment.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies regarding the handling and disposal of materials.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a similar role.
  • Valid heavy equipment operation or commercial driver’s license, as required by local regulations.
  • Strong understanding of construction, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and varying weather.
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
  • Good communication abilities and the capacity to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to operate equipment for long hours, often in poor weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination to operate machines and tools safely.
