Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to troubleshoot and oversee repairs on Caterpillar equipment and other manufacturer engines at the Yellowknife site. You will interface with customers and sales support while collaborating with the Service Supervisor on tasks and safety requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification with 1+ year of field experience, and familiarity with Lawson/SIS or warranty systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician.
• Dedication to safety.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of Caterpillar product line is an asset.
• Engine/components rebuilding experience is an asset.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing is an asset.
• Experience with Lawson, SIS and warranty systems is an asset.

Specific Skills & Experience

Note:

• Wage: $60.52 - $67.24 / hour
• Continuous shift and field premiums
• 14x14 Continuous Shift Rotation
• Job will be based in Yellowknife, NT at the Jackfish power plant.
• Travel to other NTPC sites may be required
