Job summary

First Student in Prince Albert, SK is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain and repair school buses and transit vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and complete work orders, ensuring safety and reliability on the fleet.

We offer 39–50 CAD per hour plus a $5,000 new hire bonus and a $5,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates relocating to Prince Albert. Join a local maintenance team with ongoing training and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel engines, commercial transport vehicles, or transit buses.
• Own a basic mechanic’s tool set.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Reliable, professional approach to your work.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and transit vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately.
• Respond to mobile service calls when required.
• Work as part of a safety-focused maintenance team.
