Job summary

First Student in Prince Albert, SK is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for year-round work close to home. You will maintain and repair school buses and transit vehicles, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and work within a safety-focused team.

We offer competitive hourly wages 39–50 CAD plus a $5,000 new hire bonus and a $5,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates relocating to Prince Albert. Benefits, RRSP matching, paid vacations, and training opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel engines, commercial transport vehicles, or transit buses.
• Own a basic mechanic's tool set.
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork.
• Reliable and professional work approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and transit vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately.
• Respond to mobile service calls when required.
• Work as part of a safety-focused maintenance team.
