Job summary

First Student in Prince Albert, SK is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. This role offers steady, year-round work with opportunities for career growth and Red Seal support.

You’ll diagnose and repair buses and transit vehicles, maintain brakes and drivetrains, and complete accurate paperwork while joining a safety-focused team. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel engines, commercial transport vehicles, or transit buses.
• Own a basic mechanic’s tool set.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Reliable, professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and transit vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately.
• Respond to mobile service calls when required.
• Work as part of a safety-focused maintenance team.
