Job summary

First Student in Prince Albert, SK is hiring immediately a Heavy Duty Mechanic to keep school buses and transit vehicles safe and on the road. Journeyperson Red Seal or equivalent experience required; $39-$50/hour based on experience and certification, plus a $5,000 new hire bonus and a $5,000 relocation bonus.

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and electrical/hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel engines and transit vehicles.
• Own a basic mechanic’s tool set.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Reliable, professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and transit vehicles.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately.
• Respond to mobile service calls when required.
• Work as part of a safety-focused maintenance team.
